Tech Talk: Beyond the Benchmark: Taking a Small Model from Idea to Production
Speaker: Kemal Toprak Ucar - Senior ML Engineer at Continuity and Qwen Ambassador ![]()
Abstract: Everyone enjoys running a benchmark, but the real challenge starts after. In this talk, I'll share our full fine-tuning lifecycle at Continuity with a small model, Qwen3.5-0.8B: the models and architectures we experimented with, how we built our datasets, the fine-tuning itself, and how we stacked up against SOTA models. Then comes the part benchmarks don't show: deploying, calibrating, and keeping it alive in production, plus the lessons (and scars) from every stage.
Tech Talk: Building a Data Model for Analytics and Agents
Speaker: Natalie Tha (Senior Data Analyst at Aiven) ![]()
Abstract: Using agents to ask questions about our data makes our lifes much easier, if we can trust the answers to be actually correct. In this session, I will discuss what we learned building data context at Aiven so AI agents can report metrics accurately. I will cover what broke as we scaled from a small proof of concept, how we define metrics with stakeholders, and a terminal demo of testing context changes on git branches.
Tech Talk: Cortex Agents in Production
Speaker: Anastasiia Stefanska, Snowflake Data Superhero ![]()
Abstract: Most Cortex Agent demos work well, but far fewer agents survive contact with production. This deep dive covers what works, what doesn’t, and the engineering patterns that matter once an agent leaves the demo. It follows six areas: platform, configuration, observability, evaluation, cost and scale. You’ll leave knowing how to build Cortex Agents on Snowflake that you can trace, test and budget for.
