Tech Talk: AI Regulation in Practice: Impact on Your Projects and Development Workflow
Speaker: Thomas Mattone - AI Adoption Lead at Lenstra
Abstract: The EU AI Act was released in June 2024. Despite the risk of fines of up to 7% of global revenue, many companies are still unaware of it and have yet to comply with its rules on AI systems. The AI Act places concrete obligations on the models you integrate, the systems you build on top of them, and the features you ship. We will walk through the European AI regulatory landscape and the rules around AI models, transparency, data governance, and human oversight. We will then turn to a shift the AI Act barely anticipated: the rapid rise of AI agents in organizations. The global adoption of vibe coding raises new risks, from data leakage to unvetted generated code. Discover how regulation impacts your AI projects, and how to build compliant workflows.

Tech Talk: GitHub Copilot CLI and SDK
Speaker: Romain Boudet, CTO Hexagone AI
Abstract: Most AI product starts with an API call. From the start we realized that at scale, that model simply does not work. In this talk, we will share how we rebuilt our pipeline from the ground up using only local models on limited GPU hardware. We will walk through the architectural decisions that made it possible: multi-model orchestration, context window management across pipeline stages, VRAM-aware concurrency, and LoRA fine-tuning for task-specific performance. This is a talk about the engineering reality of owning your stack, what it cost and what it buys you.
