Tech Talk: From APM to Agents: Why AI Is Forcing a New Observability Model
Speaker: Shahar Azulay (Co-founder & CEO @groundcover)
Abstract: As AI systems move into production, observability is being pulled in two directions. AI for observability promises automated investigation and reasoning, but only if observability data shifts from human-curated dashboards to agent-consumable signals with higher resolution and deeper correlation. This raises hard questions about telemetry ownership and privacy once raw operational data feeds AI systems.
At the same time, observability for AI behaves very differently from classic APM. Model quality, drift, hallucinations, and cost matter more than request latency or error rates, and many AI-native teams are building observability stacks that ignore traditional APM entirely.
This talk presents a technical perspective on why these shifts are unavoidable and how they’re already playing out in real use cases.

Tech Talk: Ink to Action: Perception, Reasoning and Registry in the era of Action
Speaker: Laxmi Harikumar (Google)
Abstract: As we enter the 'Era of Action,' AI is evolving from conversational interfaces into autonomous agents capable of real-world execution. This session demonstrates how Gemini 3’s advanced perception and reasoning serve as the catalyst for this shift, utilizing the Cloud API Registry and Model Context Protocol (MCP) to provide the governed, scalable infrastructure necessary for reliable tool discovery.

Tech Talk: How to integrate AI into an existing SaaS
Abstract: AI features fail when they aren’t accountable to outcomes and economics. This talk presents a workflow-first method for integrating AI into an existing SaaS focusing on where to place UI hooks, how to structure AI tasks so they’re testable, and how to design guardrails for high-risk actions. The approach is grounded in unit economics and real acceptance signals, giving you a practical way to scale AI responsibly and profitably.
Speaker: Nikhil Mungel (Head of AI R&D @ Cribl)
Bio: Nikhil Mungel is the Head of AI R&D at Cribl, where he sets the technical direction and leads teams building LLM-powered systems for IT and security data transformation and analysis. Based in San Francisco, he has spent over a decade building and leading SaaS and Distributed Systems spanning observability software, developer platforms, and high-scale consumer social products at companies like Substack, Splunk, and ThoughtWorks. As Head of the Developer Ecosystem at Splunk, he drove platform adoption through developer experience, APIs, integrations, and partner-facing tooling, and at Substack, he owned engineering across distributed systems, mobile apps, and mission-critical email reliability. His current focus is making complex systems more intuitive with AI, while building the platform foundations that make AI in SaaS dependable and repeatable.
