Welcome to the AI meetup in New York City, in collaboration with Oracle and Materialize. Join us for deep dive tech talks on AI, GenAI, LLMs and Agent, hands-on experiences on code labs, workshops, and networking with speakers and fellow developers.
Agenda:
* 5:30pm~6:00pm: Checkin, Food and networking
* 6:00pm~6:10pm: Welcome/community update
* 6:10pm~8:30pm: Tech talks
* 8:30pm: Q&A, Open discussion
Tech Talk: Live Data Layer for Agents
Speakers: Frank McSherry (Materialize)
Abstract: Vector search has given us a way to pack vast amounts of static context into an agent’s head. But static is not enough. Agents also need a live, trustworthy view of the world to make informed decisions. That is harder than it sounds because most systems trade away freshness for speed or correctness for freshness. We will look at why that trade-off exists, how it limits what agents can do, and what it takes to break free of it.
Tech Talk: AI-Powered Low-Code with Oracle APEX: Beyond Code Generation
Speakers: Marc Sewtz (Oracle)
Abstract: AI is reshaping how we build applications, and when combined with low-code platforms, it unlocks new levels of speed, intelligence, and usability. This session explores how Generative Development using a Model-Driven Execution Engine offers a smarter alternative to AI-driven code generation. Instead of producing large volumes of code that require constant review and maintenance, AI generates high-level models that help drive execution, enabling cleaner architecture, faster iteration, and reduced technical debt.
The benefits extend beyond developers. Modern low-code tools now empower end users to ask questions of their data using natural language. Behind the scenes, technologies like Vector Search, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI Function Calling interpret intent and deliver real-time, relevant insights. Join us to see how this combination of AI and Low-Code redefines both how we develop software and how users interact with it.
