Tech Talk: Open Agent Frameworks
Speakers: Joe Olson (The AI Alliance)
Abstract: Agents are the next step in deriving value from LLMs. Joe Olson from the AI Alliance, will present several open agent frameworks, demonstrate deployment reference implementations, and discuss how you can collaborate and extend them to meet your own business cases to create value
Tech Talk: Agentic Frameworks and Gofannon Project
Speakers: Trevor Grant (Electric Elk)
Abstract: Making your first commit into open source can be intimidating, to say the least. The bar is even higher in open source AI because things can be so confusing. But there is an AI Alliance project called gofannon with an explicit part of its mission to help new contributors make a meaningful contribution. Finally a project that is free from gatekeepers and otherwise toxic maintainers. A project where your contribution will be welcome, and people will help you shepherd your contribution from idea to accepted PR.
In this talk we'll discuss the gofannon project, which in addition to helping new contributors, focuses on being a repository of functions for agentic frameworks, and interoperability with those frameworks (we'll also talk about what that means and why it's cool). In this quick 20 minute session we'll cover some high level basics of agentic frameworks (and how functions fit in), what makes a good function, and how gofannon seeks to provide interoperability between multiple frameworks such as langchain, smolagents, and AWS Bedrock (more coming soon)
