Tech Talk: Do chatbots prefer certain brands?

Abstract: The rise of conversational AI and large language models (LLMs) is transforming customer interactions with brands, shifting from traditional keyword-based search engines to chatbot-driven summaries and recommendations. Recent studies project that over 75% of global consumers will engage with brands through chatbots monthly, leading to a projected 40% decline in organic search traffic. This talk presents a data-driven methodology for assessing brand visibility and performance within LLMs. By deploying a tailored set of diverse prompts, responses are analyzed using natural language processing (NLP) techniques to extract key metrics such as sentiment and contextual relevance. Adapting to this shift is essential for businesses seeking to optimize customer acquisition strategies as users navigate the discovery, planning, and purchasing stages through LLM platforms.

Tech Talk: AI or not AI?

Abstract: The latest innovation in generative AI technology are LLMs. You can exploit LLMs to solve many tasks that were incredibly challenging just last year. Some say you can solve anything with GenAI. Or can you? Recently, I decided to reshape an old application of mine for fraud detection, by introducing AI in it. The application dealt with finding contracts with suspicion of frauds and then to alert the affected customers of the issue. The applications had three main parts: accessing the contracts; discovering suspicious frauds; creating and sending the alert email in the customer's preferred language. I tried to introduce AI in all those parts, sometimes successfully, sometimes unsuccessfully. This talk is a summary of both my successful and failed attempts to solve everything with AI.

Tech Talk: Getting started with Vertex AI Gemini 1.5 Pro & Gemini 1.5 Flash

Abstract: In this talk, we will learn how to use the Vertex AI Gemini API and the Vertex AI SDK to work with the Gemini 1.5 Pro model to Analyze audio for insights, understand videos (including their audio components), extract information from PDF documents, and process images, video, audio, and text simultaneously.
