Tech Talk: AI and Security
Speaker: Sam Guyer (Veracode)
Abstract: This talk explores the transformative impact of GenAI on software development and its subsequent implications for cybersecurity. With GenAI, developers are shifting from traditional code reuse to generating new code snippets by prompting GenAI, leading to a significant change in software development dynamics. This advancement introduces new cybersecurity challenges as AI-generated code from LLMs trained on vulnerable OSS leads to vulnerable generated code. To make matters worse, developers, who should be the "person-in-the-middle", tend to trust GenAI created code more than human created code. This keynote will delve into real-world data from multiple academic studies, examining how GenAI is reshaping software security landscapes, the associated risks, and potential solutions to mitigate these emerging challenges.

Tech Talk: EQ for AI
Speaker: Charis Loveland (Amazon)
Abstract: As AI-driven futures emerge, leaders need to integrate cognitive and emotional intelligence to build adaptable, resilient, and innovative organizations. They require empathy for customers, foster creativity and psychological safety, and are data-driven yet human. This session explores the EPIC attributes -empathy, purpose, inspiration, and connection - that empower future-ready leaders to drive successful outcomes in the new human+AI era.

Tech Talk: Coding with AI
Speaker: Andrei Radulescu-Banu (Analytiq Hub)
Abstract: A practical look at writing software with AI tools: A review of two editor tools: the Cline VsCode add-on (open source), and the Cursor text editor (a VsCode clone).
