Tech Talk: Unstructured Data and Vector Databases
Speaker: Tim Spann (Zilliz)
Abstract: In this session, I will discuss the unstructured data and the world of vector databases, we will see how they different from traditional databases. In which cases you need one and in which you probably don’t. I will also go over Similarity Search, where do you get vectors from and an example of a Vector Database Architecture. Wrapping up with an overview of Milvus.

Tech Talk: Multimodal RAG with Bedrock
Speaker: Suman Debnath (AWS)
Abstract:In this hands-on session, participants will delve into the core concepts of handling multiple data modalities—such as text, images, and audio—within AI-driven systems. The session will guide attendees through building and implementing multimodal search, retrieval, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems. Using Amazon Bedrock and OpenSearch, participants will explore practical solutions for real-world challenges, including question-answering and document analysis. By the end, attendees will have the skills to apply multimodal models, align embeddings, and design cutting-edge multimodal applications, such as video analysis and image captioning, leveraging advanced AI tools.

Tech Talk: How Netflix Knows You Better Than You Do
Speaker: Disha Lamba (CVS Health)
Abstract: In this session, we’ll explore how recommender systems, like those used by Netflix, learn about your preferences, adapt to your tastes, and leverage data from other users. We’ll also cover how different recommendation models work, how these systems evolve over time, and their impact on our daily decisions.
