Tech Talk: Exploring Generative AI Capabilities within Vertex AI and Model Garden
Speaker: Wenming Ye (Google)
Abstract: This session is designed to explore how Google Vertex AI, powered by the latest Nvidia GPU and Google TPU streamlines, integrates, and optimizes open-source and proprietary Gen AI models for superior performance. Participants will discover the process of distributed training, fine-tuning, and deploying AI models on Vertex AI, starting from a curated selection in the Vertex Model Garden, incorporating model artifacts from Hugging Face, or utilizing their own proprietary models. The session will cover the state of the Gen AI model landscape, its transformative potential across various sectors, and how Google Vertex AI supports efficient model management, scaling, and deployment. Additionally, attendees will learn about the Model Garden's role in providing access to and customization of pre-trained AI models, facilitating rapid development cycles. Practical demonstrations will showcase the use of Vertex AI to not only fine-tune but also productionize models, ensuring attendees understand how to leverage this platform for enhancing AI projects experience.
Tech Talk: GitHub Models: A new generation of AI engineers building on GitHub
Speaker: Dave Burnison (Github)
Abstract: We are enabling the rise of the AI engineer with GitHub Models–bringing the power of industry leading large and small language models to everyone that uses GitHub. From Llama 3.1, to GPT-4o and GPT-4o mini, to Phi 3 or Mistral Large 2, you can access each model via a built-in playground that lets you test different prompts and model parameters, for free, right in GitHub.
