Tech Talk: Open challenges of video generative AI

Abstract: Video appears to be the next significant frontier for generative AI, yet several challenges must be tackled before achieving satisfactory results in terms of visual quality, coherence, and cost. The video format demands the generation of a minimum of 12 frames per second, each maintaining consistency with the others. This presents technological hurdles and notably escalates computational requirements - and thus cost and energy needs - by an order of magnitude compared to image generation technologies. This presentation will outline the current state of the art in these technologies and offer insights into addressing current limitations.
