Speaker

Welcome to the AI meetup in Silicon Valley, in collaboration with RisingWave Labs. Join us for deep dive tech talks on AI, GenAI, LLMs and machine learning, food/drink, networking with speakers and fellow developers.

Tech Talk: Unbounded Data RAG and Real-Time AI Agents
Speaker: Samuel Hu (RisingWave Labs)
Abstract: We will delve into RAG systems for unbounded data and the capabilities of real-time AI agents built on the integration of streaming platforms of Kafka and streaming databases such as RisingWave with a live demonstration. Learn how the marriage of real-time data processing with advanced AI capabilities especially the LLM foundational models is crafting more dynamic, real-time-context-aware AI agents capable of sophisticated, real-time interactions. We will also include CQRS patterns that facilitate efficient, scalable, and robust systems.

Tech Talk: The less ‘glamourous’ data infrastructure behind the future of Real-time AI
Speaker: Zhenzhong Xu (Voltron Data)
Abstract: Real-time ML and GenAI are often seen as the glamorous frontiers of technology, yet the less visible data infrastructure performs the critical heavy lifting. This talk will pivot to this crucial aspect, focusing on the three key factors that set streaming and batch processing apart, and the consequential implications for a unified data platform powering AI/ML solutions. These factors play a pivotal role in shaping modern AI/ML workflows, including data ingestion, feature engineering, storage management, and model serving/inference, particularly in a composable architecture context. If time permits, we’ll discuss how hardware evolutions such as faster networks and GPUs may impact the future of data/ML platform designs. For example, faster networks and storage will elevate disaggregated state management and hence the potential positive implications of infinite allowed-lateness, all of which will set the foundation for stream processing to play a more critical role. Of course, more importantly, we'll discuss how you can be part of the industry movement by contributing to OSS projects.
