Tech Talk: Advanced Computer Vision and Specialized Loss Functions for Precise Defect Segmentation
Speaker: Shradha Agarwal (U. of Tennessee)
Abstract: In this talk, I will discuss a pioneering approach centered on a specialized loss function within the enhanced DefectSegNet deep learning model, supplemented by U-Net and Mask R-CNN. This approach is specifically designed to drastically improve the precision of object boundary detection in microscopy images of nuclear reactor materials, even within imbalanced datasets. Paramount in achieving unmatched accuracy.

Tech Talk: Laws and Regulations Affecting AI Startups
Speaker: Joshua Barney (AwarzAI)
Abstract: In this talk, we'll navigate the intricate landscape of AI startups, addressing the challenges of regulatory compliance, litigation risks, and the vital role of ethics in innovation. We'll delve into practical strategies for engaging with policy discussions and fostering a culture that values legal and ethical integrity alongside creativity. Join me for a thoughtful exploration into shaping the future of AI, where responsibility meets pioneering spirit in a balanced and impactful way.

Tech Talk: Using AI+RAG+large context windows to power guided conversations
Speaker: Mike Prince (Talking Books AI)
