Tech Talk: Object Detection with YOLO
Speaker: Maxime and Nousayma (NEOXIA)
Abstract: Nowadays, marine plastic pollution represents 33% of global plastic pollution around the world. Surfrider is a NGO that works on reducing the amount of plastic wastes in the oceans by introducing the project Plastic Origins. Neoxia has collaborated on this project to build an AI solution based on the YOLO object detection model to categorize plastic waste. In this presentation, we will talk about what has been done on the ML part of the project.

Tech Talk: Object Detection and Classification for Studying Biodiversity Evolution
Speaker: Maxime Zennaro (NEOXIA)
Abstract: Natural State is an NGO dedicated to the protection of biodiversity in South Africa. The main goal of the project is to chart the territories of different species from African savannah by using camera traps to collect images and ML to detect and classify animals.
