Tech Talk 1: A Year of Generative AI in 20 Minutes

Abstract: Since the release of ChatGPT last November, 2023 has been a tumultuous and transformative year launching the world into the "age of Generative AI". The pace and progress of recent technologies and models has been astonishing and often difficult to keep up with. In this short talk, we will look back over some of the fundamentals and history of what has brought us to where we are, emerging trends and milestones over the past year, and what we can look forward to in the future of artificial intelligence in 2024 and beyond.
