The event is based on the recently published O Reilly Book "Practical Machine Learning for Computer Vision" (Link) by the three Google engineers Valliappa Lakshmanan, Martin Görner, and Ryan Gillard.

This practical book shows you how to employ machine learning models to extract information from images. ML engineers and data scientists will learn how to solve a variety of image problems including classification, object detection, autoencoders, image generation, counting, and captioning with proven ML techniques. This book provides a great introduction to end-to-end deep learning: dataset creation, data preprocessing, model design, model training, evaluation, deployment, and interpretability. Learn how to employ machine learning models to extract information from images. ML engineers and data scientists will learn how to solve a variety of image problems including classification, object detection, autoencoders, image generation, counting, and captioning with proven ML techniques.
Lak, Martin and Ryan (the 3 authors) will introduce three of the topics from the book:
-- Talk #1: Deep learning architectures for ML vision, by Valliappa Lakshmanan.
-- Talk #2: GAN, by Ryan Gillard.
-- Talk #3: Image Search, by Martin Görner
-- AMA Session: Q&A and Ask Me Anything.

We will raffle for 5 copies of the book. For the 5 winners: hard copy ship to you if you are within USA; e-copy if you are outside of USA).
