Description
Speaker
Open source Apache Kafka is a tremendously potent stream-processing tool built to deliver enterprise-grade messaging. However, many developers find it often needs support from complementary open source technologies to really reach its full potential. And while just about every developer loves downloading open source technologies that simply work and come free from exorbitant vendor license fees, not all open source solutions are appropriate for adoption. Attendees of this presentation will learn how to assess the true health and long-term viability of an open source project, and how to pair the most beneficial and robust open source technologies available to supercharge their Kafka deployments.

The talk will include an overview of key solutions in the Kafka ecosystem, including ZooKeeper, Connectors, SQL with Kafka, ETL design patterns, and long-term storage strategies using Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Redis, and other technologies. Attendees should come away with a better understanding of how to mitigate Kafka messaging issues, solve integration issues using additional solutions, and select the correct open source data-layer technologies for their particular use cases.
